Spread of Fire Risk Cover for Forestry Contractors

Provides protection for forestry contractors against third party legal liabilities in events where a fire starts on their property and unintentionally spreads to neighbouring properties causing damage. This cover applies to incidents caused by machinery, controlled veld burnings and other forestry events.

Application of SFR Cover

The applications of the SFR Cover are subject to risk evaluation and the discretion of the Underwriters or Bind Holders of the SAFCA Policy. Contractors who are contracted to, for example, SAPPI, MONDI, MTO, PG Bison CAPE are required to have the Primary SAFCA Cover and if elected the Excess of Loss Cover as well.

We offer two levels of cover, the standard R5.5 million and the optional extended cover of another R4.5 million (totalling R10 Million). There is an additional premium for the R10 Million option at the discretion of the underwriter.

We now also offer a third option for long haul contractors who are required to have a R20 million cover.
