We have an amazing career opportunity for a dynamic leader to become the Chief Operations Officer of the associations & NPC of SAFCA. This individual should be able to provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership for the Association & NPC and will closely coordinate and work with the SAFCA Board to reach the primary goals and objectives.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Forestry
Post graduate qualifications in Business Management will be commendable
10-15 years of industry experience.
Ability to train, develop and manage teams
Extensive experience in business management
Executive Presence and ability maintain calm demeanour in high stress environments
Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
Willing and flexible to travel within South Africa
Track record of creating a vision for success, driving growth, inspiring employee engagement, anticipating customer needs.
Nationality : South African
Fluent in English (read, write and speak)
Strong leadership ability.
Strategic decision-making ability
Professional business acumen.
Outstanding problem-solving skills.

Your key job responsibilities as the Chief Executive Officer
Lead the creation and focused execution of the business strategy
Work with finance team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, which includes setting a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Evaluate company’s financial, operational, and sales and marketing structures to plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies.
Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps as well as processes and governance.
Oversee regular review of the organisational strategy and roadmap to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem

Accountable for ethical operations and open communication between the Board and the team

Represent the Association in various forestry fora (nationally and internationally)
Contribute to new interventions/programmes rendered by the Forestry Industry
